It looks like the Nets have found their rhythm now that Kyrie Irving is back and consistently playing games. They’ve won 8 of their last nine games and are ranked second in the east. Now, of course, not all of this can be attributed to Kyrie’s long-awaited comeback seeing as how the Nets have fired Steve Nash and now have Jacque Vaughn.
So what are the Nets doing differently? First, Ben Simmons has found a place in the Nets as a role player who can use his skills to help set up his teammates in positions to score. Next up, there’s the deadly duo of KD and Kyrie, both elite scorers who can either get to the basket to score or pull up for a jumper. Lastly, there’s Yuta Watanabe, who now seems to be a fan favorite because of his marksmen-like shooting and electric play. Yuta is 6’8 and shooting at 52% from the 3 this season. Counting Seth Curry, there are 4 lethal shooters on the team and plenty of other amazing scorers. Of course, most of these players have been here before but under the direction of Steve Nash. Now under the leadership of Coach Vaughn, however, we’re seeing more wins as the players and their specific talents are better utilized.
Now, all we can hope for is for all the players to remain healthy and continue playing to secure the championship at the end.
