Is Kyrie Irving Leaving the Brooklyn Nets?

Persisting trade rumors regarding Kyrie Irving stirred Nets Fans and the NBA community into a frenzy as everyone attempted to predict where the star point guard would land. However, a new tweet by Shams reported that Kyrie Irving has opted into a 37 million dollar player option for the 2022-2023 season.

However, since then, countless hypothetical trade proposals have been made, outlining possible trades between the Nets and Lakers. Most of these trade options end with Kyrie in Los Angeles and Russell Westbrook with the Nets.

While Kyrie reuniting with Lebron in LA seemed highly plausible, the Lakers have recently reported that they are “not aggressively” pursuing Kyrie Irving. In fact, the Lakers have their eyes on other players, including Eric Gordon and other veteran guards with the capability to make shots beyond the arc.

So, as of right now, Kyrie Irving is still a Brooklyn Net, but that seems likely to change in the coming days of the off-season.
